In July 2018, the Canada Research Coordinating Committee (CRCC) launched a national consultation requesting input from Canadian scientists and the general public regarding approaches and plans to ‘reinvigorate Canada’s support for science and position Canada as a global leader in research excellence.”
CAPS/ACSP chose to participate in this consultation by focusing on the “Support for early career researchers” topic/theme.
In an effort to keep the report as brief as possible and align it with our other recent government consultations, we opted to borrow some of the content from our very recent 2019 Pre-Budget Brief and focus this report on elaborating the potential role of the Tri-Agency in ‘reimagining’ the Canadian postdoctoral training system as a whole.
