Low-income Waiver
Active and Alumni Members (i.e., current and former Canadian postdocs) who do not belong to a Contributing Affiliate Organization and who truly cannot afford to pay the one-time $50 Contributing Members fee can request that CAPS/ACSP waive the Contributing Member requirement for eligibility for any of the insurance plans offered to CAPS/ACSP Members.
Please send requests for a low-income waiver to pastchair@caps-acsp.ca including a brief explanation of your financial situation along with any evidence you are comfortable submitting. All information related to waivers and waiver requests will be treated as strictly private and confidential and there are no specific requirements with respect to evidence. The CAPS/ACSP Executive Council will approve up to 10 waiver requests at each monthly Executive meeting based on anonymized information.
These waivers are for those who are truly in need, so please do not apply for a waiver unless you meet the requirements and your financial situation is grim. Each waiver we approve for someone who can afford to pay is a waiver that is not going to a person who truly needs it.
